Last week we arrived at our deadline for the Patches & Friends campaign. Although we didn’t meet our fundraising goal via IndieGoGo, we’re working on a plan B to get our animated short produced for Patches Kids. If you’re reading this and wondering what Patches & Friends is all about feel free to click here for more details. If you’re bummed to have missed the opportunity to get behind this Voxy Ladies production, don’t worry & stay tuned as we’ll provide details for you to get involved after the first of the year!
In the meantime, we’d like to direct your attention another opportunity via Kickstarter. And no we’re not referring to the cheeseburger wrapping paper, although that was a pretty genius idea & we did throw those clever folks a couple of bucks!
Voxy Lady, Ashlyn Selich is in the process of producing an animated web series based on her children’s book, Twinkie Magee and His Quest to Find Normal. Ashlyn wrote Twinkie Magee after her little brother was diagnosed with Aspergers, a form of autism that effects the way a person interacts socially. Usually children with Aspergers have trouble picking up on social queues and have a tendency to take sayings in their most literal form. Twinkie Magee shares those same quirks, as does his best friend Sneeze.
Ashlyn’s hope is that these characters will be role models for embracing individuality and promoting tolerance in a world that so desperately wants to make everyone the same.
We encourage you to get behind Ashlyn’s project via Kickstarter & you can do so by following this link. Between Patches & Twinkie we have a lot of work to do in 2012 and we’re excited to be involved with two wonderful productions that will give back to children everywhere and bring awareness to some very special causes!
Thanks so much for your support!
