Yesterday was Groundhog Day, would have been the perfect day to post this, but alas I just wasn’t quick enough. Which brings me to my next point. As actors, the ability to think fast under pressure is an essential tool we must all have in our acting toolbox, which is why we’re delighted to announce two wonderful opportunities to sharpen this tool!
Next month Mary Lynn Wissner of Voices Voicecasting is hosting an improv workshop with Lori Alan. You’ve heard Lori as Diane the Anchorwoman on Family Guy, Pearl the Whale on Spongebob Sqaurepants, Bonnie’s mom in Pixar’s Toy Story 3. Her list of credits goes on and on. Mary Lynn refers to Lori as a “booking machine” and the “go-to gal for funny.” You won’t want to miss this opportunity to learn from both Lori & casting director Mary Lynn. Here’s the link with more info & to sign up!
Also, we’re excited to announce another fantastic opportunity over at Kalmenson & Kalmenson, the chance to learn from one of our favorite funny guys to light up the silver screen & television, Stephen Tobolwsky. Everybody knows Stephen as Ned Ryerson from Groundhog Day, as well as his portrayal of Commissioner Hugo Jarry in Deadwood for nine episodes, Bob Bishop in Heroes for eleven episodes over the second and third seasons. Also, Stephen has a recurring role as Sandy Ryerson in the FOX show Glee and as Stu Biggs in the Showtime series Californication.
This class with Stephen Tobolowsky begins in March and will take place once a week for six weeks. You can get more info & sign up here! We’ll see you at both!
